Magical Thinking & UU ValuesOpen to all children ages 5-13, the Univelarian University of Wizarding Arts (UUWA) summer camp program is a week of fantastic fun! Embracing make believe and magical thinking, student wizards explore Unitarian Universalists values rooted in liberation. UUWA offers a fully immersive experience with a focus on community building and sacred silliness where our students get to embrace their creativity, put their imagination into overdrive, and be welcomed and celebrated for exactly who they are. Our radical inclusion and diverse activities encourage our students to be unashamedly themselves as they explore their magic.

In Person at UUFHC!
Following safety protocols as determined by the UUFHC Board, our summer camp will be offered in person. Students, volunteers, and staff are required to be vaccinated against covid-19 and may be required to wear masks on occasion during programming.
In 2020 and 2021, our program was offered virtually in the US and Canada. Here's what families said about these terms:
Just wanted to thank you so much for my 6 year old daughter Addie's great experience in the School of Wizardry! When the schools closed this past spring, I saw how unable she was to connect to virtual learning but I was amazed that she really connected to you all and the Wizardry School. The program was so well-developed and implemented -- from movement breaks and art and the thrill of envelope opening, it was so heartening to see Addie connect to and enjoy this virtual camp! |
I cannot express enough gratitude for all the incredible work behind this camp. It went so far beyond all camps my kids have done!!!! Noemi has been bouncing around all week loving camp. And it worked so well with zoom.
We wanted to thank you for the truly amazing camp this past week. Our daughter Maya had a wonderful time, and we could not stop raving about how clever, creative, principles-based, multi-layered, exciting and FUN the curriculum was - not to mention how amazing that you all were able to pull it off so wonderfully online! |
UUWA aims to take the best inspiration from the world of Harry Potter and transform it into something more loving, inclusive, and in line with our Unitarian Universalist values. We firmly denounce J.K. Rowling and her harmful views on trans rights, fatphobia, racism, and antisemitism. We make no defense of the Harry Potter franchise in light of the author’s position on these and other things and therefore we do not use any official Harry Potter characters, themes, merchandise, or stories in our programming. UUWA is what the Wizarding World could have been if it had been radically inclusive and accepting.
